About Jeri Lynne

My journey into offering myself as a help to others began with working as a volunteer with Calgary Postpartum Society. Here I worked individually and with groups to offer support to women experiencing postpartum depression. That was 30 years ago! Since then I received a Master of Arts degree in Counselling from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and I have been in private practice since the spring of 1991. I am certified by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association which is a self-regulatory body. My membership in this organization is based on my credentials, a program of ongoing training, insurance and adherence to a code of ethics. Your work benefits must list "counsellor" in order to be reimbursed. I am always open to discuss fees.
I draw from a variety of approaches and resources, having received training in a number of areas, some of which are: inner child healing, parent education, hypnotherapy, psycho-drama, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, EMDR. Most recently, I have completed training in and been involved in advanced supervision in the methods of Hakomi. I am also studying and learning the therapeutic process of Re-creation of the Self, an adjunct to Hakomi. I continue to integrate the 5 guiding principles of Hakomi as important additions to the underlying values that are represented in my work.
I believe the therapy process is most effective when a client’s own resources are strengthened. I see my role as offering support, insight, skill, training and personal style to create an environment that is accepting, safe, challenging and fertile for that development. My job is to listen carefully and attend to the circumstances and conditions of life that have brought them to me. Together we can learn about what a person needs to allow them to gain perspective on the invitations that life has brought.

When you look out at the stars in the night sky,
doesn’t it make you feel insignificant?
... me neither ...
